2012 proved a successful year for Wright's breakthrough of their latest single-decker bus;
the Wright Streetlite.
Wright and Alexander Dennis are long time rivals, so Wright thought it was time to step-up their game and try to contend with the extremely successful Enviro200.
Now, this bus is available in different sizes:
- Wheel foward - 8.8 metres (seats 33 passengers) and 9.5 metres (seats 37 passengers)
- Door foward - 10.2 metres (seats 37 passengers) and 10.8 metres (seats 41 passengers)
The first of these vehicles to hit London was First's 10.2m Doorfoward Streetlite which currently operates on 226 as well as 228 and is based at Willesden Junction Garage (WJ) and hit the roads in Janurary this year.

First London has placed an additional order for 46 more buses, so we'll be seeing more of these buses soon!
The next example of these buses to enter were Blue Triangle's 8.8m Wheelfoward Streetlite which currently operate on route 462 and are operated at Rainham Garage (BE).
These buses weigh 7400kgs.

Our final example is Wright's Demonstrator Streetlite.
This bus is currently owned by Wright, and has been circling round bus garages, hoping that the company decides to buy them.
Unfortunately, this scheme has not brought in any interest, apart from Arriva who trialed it on route 491 for 2 months and have currently decided that they probably wouldn't be ordering any of the Streetlite's.
This bus is exactly the same as the First Streetlite, so has the exact same specifications apart from high back lazzereni seats.
Without further ado, enjoy the last of the photos!
